Linas Cernauskas
Editor
Born in the concrete jungle of New York City and forged somewhere between ink-stained editorial desks and the smell of burnt powder, Linas Cernauskas is what happens when you mix old-school publishing grit with a lifelong appreciation for well-machined steel.
Starting at the absolute bottom rung of the publishing world in 1999, Linas clawed his way up the ladder the hard way (no shortcuts, no gimmicks) eventually landing Editor-in-Chief status and later Content Director for one of the most recognized names in firearms media. In other words, if it involved guns, gear, or anything that goes bang, chances are he’s written about it, edited it, or argued about it over a glass of bourbon.
Speaking of bourbon that’s one of his known vices, right alongside cigars and the dangerous habit of “just one more gun.” (Spoiler: it’s never just one more.) His collection reportedly ranges from practical to “why do you even own that?” A question he answers with a shrug and a trip to the backyard range… yes, his backyard. Because of course it is.
After nearly four decades in NYC, Linas made the tactical retreat to Michigan in search of quieter surroundings, more trigger time, and fewer people asking why he’s cleaning a rifle at the kitchen table. There, he lives with his wife and what can only be described as a small, highly energetic tactical unit of Toy Australian Shepherds.
Academically, he holds a degree in Industrial & Organizational Psychology; useful for managing teams, but arguably more useful for understanding why gun guys will debate calibers like it’s a religious war. He’s also fluent in Lithuanian, which comes in handy when swearing at malfunctioning gear in a language no one else understands.
Over the years, his byline has appeared across major firearms outlets, covering everything from budget scatterguns to high-end AR platforms, always with a tone that says, “I’ve actually used this stuff.”
If you combined a seasoned editor, a dedicated gun nerd, a backyard shooter, and a bourbon enthusiast into one guy… you’d get Linas Cernauskas.
And if you can’t find him, check the range… or the humidor.
