Travis Birney, better known by his pen name, Robert Jordan, started shooting with his dad before he was five. He was captain of the Yale Rifle Team for three years in college. He worked as a county detention officer, then joined the U.S. Border Patrol in 1997. In 1999 he became a DEA Special Agent and was stationed in Arizona, Afghanistan, Texas, Montana, and their office of training in Quantico, Virginia. A firearms instructor, tactical instructor, and SRT member, he has taught countless new shooters as well as seasoned professionals throughout the U.S. and counterparts overseas. These days he can be found building guns in his garage, competing at local matches on weekends, or testing new equipment.
