Author
William Lawson
William “Bucky” Lawson has been hunting and shooting in Virginia’s Appalachian Mountains since 1974. His father was a stern teacher who passed along a strong tradition of respect for and proficiency with firearms. Bucky has, in turn, mentored his own son the same way. He is a trained military historian specializing in World War II, giving him an affinity for military surplus firearms from both World Wars, and how those firearms were deployed and used. He has written for numerous firearms and historical publications since 2015, doing so full-time since 2021. Bucky’s academic background drives a keen interest in Second Amendment issues, as well as America’s founding documents as a whole, their influences, and their authors. He lives in his native Appalachia with his dog, Bilbo.
