Auto-Ordnance 'Commander in Chief' AR-15 Pays Tribute to Donald Trump

There are some in the firearms industry that take a very neutral political stance regarding our current president. They may support him and his commitment to the constitution, but take a much more “corporate” stance with the intent of not potentially offending customers. This is their right obviously, but there are others that openly support the president and are not shy about it in the least. Case in point would be Kahr Firearms and Auto Ordnance. These companies have led to a series of “Trump” guns that have been met with incredible enthusiasm, selling out at record rates. These guns have ranged from custom 1911s to Tommy Guns detailed with support for President Trump. The latest in this line is the new Donald Trump-themed “Commander in Chief” AR-15.

We got our hands on the new rifle at the recent Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous. The Commander in Chief is a beautiful AR-15 adorned with engravings and a custom coating. The gun honors the patriotism of the 45th president, and his determination to “Keep America Great.” In fact, Auto-Ordnance engraved the motto on the right side of the upper receiver, and the “United States of America” on the aluminum free-floated, M-LOK forend. This customization is eye-catching to say the least and continues around the gun.

Auto-Ordnance had the left side of the upper receiver engraved with President Trump’s name and the title, “Commander in Chief” of the Armed Forces. The lower receiver has beautiful relief cuts, along with “45th,” noting his position in our nation’s long line of presidents.

While the gun is engraved in a Trump theme, it also includes quality components as a shooter.

As you would expect, it includes a very nicely detailed American flag as well as the star pattern on the grip and forearm. The adornment continues with an actual likeness of President Trump in front of the White House on the magazine well, with the Presidential Seal on the right. Meanwhile, “In God We Trust” resides on the forward assist housing.

Pure AR at Heart

These are more than just show pieces designed for display. Each gun is still a hardcore reliable rifle meant for performance. The upper and lower are both billet aluminum and fit each other well. It is chambered in .223/5.56×45 and has a beautiful Burnt Bronze and Black Cerakote finish. The upper has a Picatinny rail for optics and or sights, and the forend also has a Picatinny rail section near the muzzle for aftermarket front sights. The rifle has a 16-inch barrel with a 1-8 twist, allowing it to accurately fire a variety bullet weights. Auto-Ordnance topped the barrel off with a classic A2 birdcage flash hider. Kahr and Auto-Ordnance include one 30-round Magpul P-Mag with each rifle.

In the end, Kahr Firearms and Auto Ordnance have produced yet another beautiful gun in support of President Trump. If you simply imagine the gun by reading the description it may seem a bit over the top. That could not be further from the truth. The gun is very tastefully done and manages to include all of this without looking “busy” or “cluttered.”
