Barrett Releases Tungsten Grey REC10 in .308 Win.

Barrett recently announced the newest version of one its more popular rifle lines, the tungsten grey REC10. Like previous REC10 models, the tungsten grey model comes chambered in .308 Win.

Barrett only first began offering the REC10 available for civilian sales in April of this year. That offering comes on the heels of the U.S. military selecting the REC10 as a medium caliber, long-range rifle.

“We’ve been working on the REC10 behind-the-scenes for more than two years,” said Chris Barrett, President, Barrett Firearms, in a December press release announcing the new rifle. “Before we bring a rifle to market, we have to know it meets the standards of the most demanding users in the world – the armed forces. Winning this contract further confirms, we’ve done our job.”

The REC10 family of rifles results after years of extensive engineering and exhaustive testing, according to Barrett. Moreover, the company spent what it describes as “countless hours perfecting the semi-automatic 308 rifle, guaranteeing the reliability, durability, and accuracy customers expect form the Barrett name; no corners cut, no detail overlooked. The Barrett REC10 is reliable, a pleasure to shoot and operate, and it’s accurate. From the barrel to the safety, the attention to quality craftsmanship is unmatched.”

The direct impingement driven, semi-automatic REC10 features a button-rifled, chrome bore, 16-inch barrel. Further, a carbine buffer and intermediate length gas system are included. Additionally, an ambidextrous bolt release and magazine catch add versatility. Meanwhile, the bolt carrier utilizes TB-41 DLC treatment, while the upper and lower feature precision machining from billet.

A BRS M-LOK handguard, ALG Defense QMS trigger group, Barrett Flash Hider and Magpul MOE-SL Buttstock round out the package. Also, the rifle ships with a 20-round Magpul magazine, Magpul MBUSTM Sights installed and a Barrett soft case.
