The Beretta 92X Performance Defensive Comes Match-Ready for IDPA

Focusing on IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) competitors needs, Beretta adds another level in their 92X performance competition pistol line. Starting with the popular 92X performance platform, the new Beretta 92X Performance Defensive makes alterations, and adds features, specific for IDPA compliance.

The Beretta Performance Defensive Pistol

The custom-built Performance Defensive features a lightened steel frame and Brigadier slide. As a result, the frame and slide adaptation meet the specific weight requirements for IDPA regulation firearms. However, part of the weight reduction comes in the loss of the picatinny rail, typical on 92X pistols. Slight internal modifications to the design of the slide and frame also aid in weight reduction.

Like the 92X RDO, the Performance Defensive pistol, from Beretta, features thin grips and front and backstrap checkering. For this reason, the Performance Defensive allows for instinctive control and consistent and accurate target acquisition.

The Brigadier slide includes integral slide cuts to allow for the mounting of optional optic plate styles

The Brigadier slide includes integral slide cuts to allow for the mounting of optional optic plate styles. Although it ships with blanking covers, end-users can purchase one of five different plates to mount their choice of optic. Between the five plates, the slide can accommodate all of the most popular optic variants on the market. The slide also features saw-toothed front and rear serrations for easy manipulation in all conditions or while under duress.

Finally, the addition of the Xtreme-S Trigger System provides a fully adjustable experience. As a result, the end-user can decrease trigger reset by up to 40%, without losing Beretta’s safety features. Additionally, the skeletonized hammer coupled with the competition standard hammer spring enables a faster lock time.

The resulting changes and additions make the Beretta 92X Performance Defensive compliant with the three most shot IDPA divisions. With the Performance Defensive you will be able to shoot SSP, ESP and CO competitions without any alterations.
