Pistol-caliber carbines are all the rage right now; this is partially because they use cheaper ammunition (which translates to more range training time). But compared to a typical handgun, they still offer all of the rifle perks—easier aiming, maximized terminal ballistics, greater on capacity, etc.

CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 Carbine Details
The 9mm CZ Scorpion EVO 3 first came onto the scene as a submachine gun several years ago. In 2015, it hit the U.S. civilian market in pistol form.
The latest carbine variant has a 16.2-inch, cold-hammer-forged barrel fitted with either a compensating muzzle brake or a faux suppressor built for CZ-USA by none other than SilencerCo.
The newly designed forend has M-LOK slots that help keep the carbine slim while still allowing you to add accessories like lights and lasers. It’s also wide enough to accept most sound suppressors.
CZ includes adjustable sights on the top Picatinny rail. The stock folds to the right side while also being adjustable for length of pull. The controls are ambidextrous, and the charging handle does not reciprocate with each shot.
Black and Flat Dark Earth variants are available with 20-round magazines (or 10-round magazines if you live in a restricted state).
Best yet, the carbines range from $999 to $1,079. Having run these guns at a recent event in Colorado, we can safely say that this is money well spent.
