With a wonderfully compact 16.25-inch barrel, the Model 89 Black Thunder should prove quick into action. The .500 S&W Magnum cartridge gives it the power to use for hunting, home defense or as a survival/pack gun.

The Model 89 BT utilizes stainless steel construction, heat-treated and coated with a black Nitride finish. It should hold up to pretty much anything a shooter can throw its way. An adjustable Skinner rear aperture rear sight helps and fiber-optic front sight helps shooters get on target quickly. Or the factory-installed Scout Scope Mount rail enables use of a scout scope, red dot or other optic.

The front forend sports section of M-LOK rail on each side. Shooters can mount a host of lights, lasers or other tactical/defensive accessories. With the right gear, you can easily configure this handy little package to suit your desired use. On the back end, a Pachmayr Decelerator butt pad helps eat up the forces of recoil. Finally, a generous lever loop accepts a gloved hands for adverse conditions.

Now here’s the real kicker on the versatility of this rifle. The .500 S&W Magnum cartridge offers a wide range of loadings. The Model 89 BT eats up bullets ranging from 200 grains to a massive 700-grain bullet.
