The heart of the new system is the thumb-activated retention system. The thumb activation follows master grip principle, according to Blackhawk. Also, the holster comes with Level 2 and Level 3 retention to meet the needs of various law enforcement agencies. Further, the Level 3 system adds a retention strap over the back of the slide to ensure maximum retention of a duty sidearm.

Inside, the duty holsters utilize a low-friction material to encourage a smooth, effortless draw, according to the company. The lining also features sound-dampening for stealth drawing and holstering, according to Blackhawk.

Blackhawk manufactures each holster from durable material. The resulting holster provides protection yet maintains a sleek design with minimal bulk.
