Looking to amp up your Mossberg Shockwave? The Brownells Boom Kit looks like a solid option.

According to Brownells’ presser, the Boom Kit is a drop-in setup that comes with a 14-inch Carlson’s 12-gauge barrel with 22 port holes to reduce muzzle flip and recoil. In addition, the barrel comes with a fiber optic Hi Viz green front sight, which helps with faster target acquisition. Rounding out the package is an 11.75-inch polymer stabilizing brace from SB Tactical. The brace provides a third point of contact, boosting handling and control.
Mossberg Shockwave
We’re sure you’re familiar with the Mossberg 590 Shockwave, but in case you aren’t, it’s a 12-gauge pump-action featuring a 14-inch barrel, Shockwave Raptor bird’s head pistol grip and an overall length of 26.37 inches. The ATF classifies it as a “non-NFA firearm.” Thus, no tax stamp is required for transfers.
Since introducing it to great fanfare at the beginning of last year, Mossberg has expanded the Shockwave with new versions, including a 20-gauge model released last October, two new 12-gauge variants: the 590 Shockwave Flat Dark Earth (FDE) Cerakote-finished receiver and barrel option and the portable 590 JIC (Just In Case) Shockwave with stainless Cerakote metal finishes; the 590M mag-fed version; and a .410 bore model for home defense.
The Brownells Boom Kit is priced at $369, but it’s on sale right now for $289.99.
