Brownells has unveiled its new Long Slide. Essentially, it’s a full-length Glock 17 slide designed for a compact Glock 19 Gen3 frame.

The extended length of the Brownells Long Slide results in a longer sight radius for better shot placement. It also helps with recoil control.
“The shorter Glock 19 grip is an excellent option for those who carry concealed and have trouble with larger grip ‘printing’ but are OK with the full-size pistol’s longer slide. And it aids shooters with smaller hands who find the full-sized Glock 17 grip cumbersome,” Brownells says.
The slide features wide serrations at the front and back for a secure grip when racking. The “window” on the top reduces weight and boosts air flow. This ensures that your barrel will keep cool during long practice sessions. Also included are standard factory front and rear sight sight cuts. This lets you install any aftermarket sights that fit a Glock factory slide. An RMR model is also available. It has a pre-cut slot for installation of a Trijicon RMR red dot sight.
Brownells notes that a standard Glock 17 barrel won’t work with this slide. This is due to changes in barrel-to-frame geometry that occur when you mate a longer slide with a smaller Glock 19 frame. To address this, you’ll need to get an extended barrel for the Glock 19. Brownells sells two different variants.
The Brownells Long Slide for the Gen3 Glock 19 is available right now for pre-order. The price ranges from $249.99 to $299.99 depending on the option you choose. See a rundown of features and a video below. For more, go to brownells.com.
