Meanwhile, the Silver Hunter Matte and Micro Midas come with a silver/matte black bi-tone finished receiver; a matte blued barrel; satin walnut stock; and one 14-inch stock spacer (Micro Midas). The Silver Hunter Matte is available in 20 and 12 gauge with either a 26-inch or 28-inch barrel. The Micro Midas model also comes in 20 and 12 gauge, but with a 24-inch or 26-inch barrel. Built for the serious deer hunter in areas where a shotgun with slugs is mandatory, the Silver Rifled Deer Matte features a lightweight aluminum alloy receiver; semi-hunchback receiver shape; thick-walled, 22-inch fully rifled barrel for slugs; three-inch chamber; satin walnut stock and a cantilever scope mount. Available in 20 gauge, the suggested retail for this shotgun is $1,339.99.

According to the press release, all Browning Silver shotguns feature the company’s self-adjusting Active Value gas system, which diverts gases to operate the action rather than adding to recoil. When shooting light loads, most of the gases are used to operate the action. When working with magnum loads, only a small amount of gas is needed. The remaining gases are vented out the top of the forearm and away from the receiver. The Action Vale system also allows for a wide range of loads. The 12 gauge 3″ models handle everything from 1 ounce field loads to heavy 3 inch magnums. The 3-1/2-inch model has a similar range.
