Last year, B&T won the U.S. Army Sub Compact Weapon contract. Since then, the company delivered its initial run of 333 SCWs to the U.S. Military. To commemorate the milestone, B&T is offering a limited-edition run of 350 specially serialized Sub Compact Weapon (SCW) Package kits.
Commemorative B&T Sub Compact Weapon Package
B&T makes a lot of interesting weapons, to say the least. Our friends at BallisticMag.com recently tested the full-auto 10mm B&T APC10 Pro, which is a lot of fun. Meanwhile, our pals at PersonalDefenseWorld.com ran the full-auto B&T MP9-N Subgun. It’s tough not to smile with full-auto compactness like that. But let’s take a look at the just-announced B&T Sub Compact Weapon civilian offering.
The commemorative SCW pistol run is based on the APC9K Pro, or Advanced Police Carbine. Miami Beach Police recently selected that same carbine for use. It utilizes a hydraulic buffer system to reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise.
The compact variant also includes dual auto-folding, non-reciprocating and ambidextrous charging handles. An improved lower receiver includes a side-positioned bolt hold open/release. It comes with a removable M4 compatible grip and Magpul M-LOK accessory slots on the forend. The system can accommodate Glock 9mm, SIG P320 or proprietary B&T magazines, so that’s an added bonus.
Commemorative Case Includes
- APC9K “Sub Compact Weapon” PRO Pistol
- Telescoping Brace / Stock Adapter
- Gearhead Works Tailhook Mod 1 Brace
- Aimpoint Nano Optic on a B&T Low Profile Riser
- Serialized Letter of Authenticity
- Custom Pelican 1600 Series Protector Case with Fitted Foam
- Three B&T Magazines with Bumpers
- B&T Co-Branded Microtech Dirac Automatic Knife with Matching Serial Number
- Commemorative Co-Serialized Challenge Coin – 1 Troy Oz .999% Pure Silver
- Vertx Dead Letter Sling Bag
So what does that translate to in terms of MSRP? The overall price comes in at $7,000. There might be some “sticker shock” there, but look above at what you’re getting. This isn’t a package you can just go out and get when you want. Is it for everyone? No, definitely not. But there’s certainly a cool factor here and the B&T products we’ve previously tested run well.
B&T expects the Army to issue the APC9K to personal security details protecting Army leaders. The platform fills the role for a highly concealable sub-compact weapon system. It delivers a high volume of fire at close range. The submachine gun fills the gap between pistol and rifle platforms. For even more info, visit bt-arms.com.
