One of the hazards of my occupation is that I frequently find myself amongst firearms aficionados who, shall we say, are not always in possession of all the facts. You know the guys. The ones that sit in the gun shop and tell everyone this gun, that ammunition or that widget is no good. Not that they have any personal experience, but their source of information came through the grapevine.

I was within earshot of such a conversation recently. It wasn’t in a gun shop; it was actually at the shooting range. The subject was the AR or black rifle. Naturally, all those in attendance started to tout their favorite manufacturer. The name Bushmaster came up and a fellow said, “With Bushmaster you are just buying a name.”
