The Chiappa Little Badger survival rifle has been on the block for a while now. But it’s such a unique little gun that we had to give it another look. When we stopped by the manufacturer’s booth at SHOT Show 2020 — where we also examined at the Triple Threat triple-barrel shotgun — we also took a quick look at the Little Badger.

Chiappa Little Badger Details
For those unfamiliar, the Little Badger is a folding, break-open rifle. Billed as a survival gun, it’s incredibly lightweight and compact. The Little Badger weighs just 2.9 pounds and folds down to 17 inches from an overall length of 31 inches. Chiappa’s usage of a wire frame stock gets that weight to where it is.
With survival at the forefront of the build, storing ammo is a necessary means with a single-capacity gun. The Little Badger features an integrated shell holder on the stock that holds 12 rounds. It’s convenient and useful. It also has M1 Carbine-style front and rear sights.
The Little Badger is a true pack gun. It’s available in .22 WMR, .22 LR, and .17 HMR. MSRPs for either of the .22s comes in at $216, while MSRP on the .17 HMR is $229.
