Chisolm’s Trail — a Georgia-based manufacturer of quality authentic Old Western leather holsters, belts, knives and other general western leather goods — has unveiled two new ASL (Air, Sea, Land) Tactical/Survival knives.
The ASL 5 is designed as an all-purpose knife with a blade which is approximately 4 7/8″ long, 3/16″ thick, and 1 1/2″ wide. It weighs one pound without a sheath. According to the official product listing, this knife comes with a light O.D. micarta slab handle and a palm swell which provides optimum grasp. In addition, the Mil Spec Hummer Desert Tan blade enjoys a flat edge grind and can easily be resharpened in the field. The blade has a Rockwell hardness of about 57. Chisolm’s Trail says this is a great “survival and bug out blade,” in addition to being perfect for Special Forces members who are able to obtain their own gear. The suggested retail price for the ASL 5 is $249.95, without a sheath.
The ASL 6 is a medium-sized tactical/survival knife with a blade that is 6″ long, 3/16″ thick, and 1 1/2″ wide. It boasts many of the same features as the ASL 5, except for the charcoal micarta handle and the stealth black powder coat blade. The suggested retail price of this knife without a sheath is $269.95. Chisolm’s Trail is offering significant discounts for this knife, as well as the ASL 5, for military, law enforcement, first Responder, & veterans.
