CMMG End Cap Eliminates Buffer Tube for Shortest Banshee Pistol Yet

The CMMG Banshee series is one of the most popular AR pistol platforms on the market. Well, CMMG just announced an interesting new Banshee release — its own proprietary End Cap, which produces the shortest, most compact Banshee pistol to date. The new lineup features a capped receiver without a buffer tube and receiver extension.

How the CMMG End Cap Works

The new end cap system replaces the need for a receiver extension and buffer assembly. The new release is available in .22 LR only, for the moment. It accommodates all CMMG .22 LR AR Conversion Kits. It also works with any AR-15-style rifle that uses a dedicated CMMG .22 LR bolt carrier group and barrel. Regardless of platform, it transforms your .22 LR build.

The end cap comes in two different variations. The standard includes a smooth exterior. The CMMG logo version features a .22 LR End Cap logo and QD with an attachment point machined into the exterior for QD sling attachment. Installation comes via securing the .22 LR End Cap on the back of the lower receiver. It utilizes a 3/8-inch hex wrench in lieu of the buffer tube.

The .22 LR End Cap with the manufacturer’s logo, sold separately, retails for $24.95. The QD End Cap retails for $29.95.

CMMG also offers Banshee lower groups and complete Banshee .22 LR pistols with the .22 LR End Cap preinstalled. The Banshee 100 Series comes with the .22 LR End Cap logo. Meanwhile, the Banshee 200 and 300 Series come with the QD End Cap. These Banshee pistols price out at $799.95 to $1,024.95. For even more info, please visit cmmginc.com.
