CMMG developed the 9 ARC Magazine in collaboration with Mean Arms. The magazine comes in both 10- and 30-round capacities. CMMG developed the magazine system to use specifically with its own Banshee or Resolute 9mm uppers.
CMMG 9 ARC Magazine Features
The 9 ARC Magazine works with an SBR or full-auto AR-15. Meanwhile, the conversion process is both simple and quick. Firstly, attach a CMMG 9mm Radial Delayed Blowback upper onto a standard AR-15 lower. Second, insert a 9 ARC Magazine into the well. CMMG recommends maintaining a standard carbine buffer and action spring to reliably cycle the action. Finally, the 9 ARC Magazine provides last-round bolt hold-open functionality, according to CMMG.
For those with Magpul PMAGs, CMMG offers 9 ARC Magazine Adapters. The adapters fit into Gen 2/3 PMAG bodies, forming a 9 ARC Magazine. The 9 ARC Magazine Adapters modify to hold 10, 15, 20 or 30 rounds of 9mm.
CMMG plans to offer a complete line of firearms in Resolute and Banshee configurations designed for 9 ARC Magazines. Also, each will feature CMMG’s Mk4 lower receiver and a dedicated 9mm Radial Delayed Blowback upper receiver.
CMMG’s Radial Delayed Blowback operating system uses a bolt that is forced to rotate and unlock prior to cycling. The delayed blowback enables CMMG to user a lighter buffer and carrier than typical direct blowback designs. The result is less perceived recoil by the shooter compared to the typical pistol caliber carbine, according to CMMG.
The MSRP for the 9 ARC Magazine is $44.95 and for the 9 ARC Magazine Adapter is $29.95. The three-pack of 9 ARC Magazine Adapters will retail for $79.95.
