One restaurant in western Colorado has attracted widespread media attention due to its gun-carrying waitresses.
According to KKCO, Shooters Grill of Rifle, Colorado, features servers complete with pen, pad, apron and a holstered handgun as they take a customer’s order.
Owner Lauren Boebert says this isn’t about a “gimmick” which would attract attention for her restaurant. Rather, she and the staff are simply exercising their second amendment rights.
“The people who are here, they want to be here, they like the food, they like our means of transporting the food with our firearms at our sides,” says Lauren Boebert.
According to OregonLive.com, a sign on the front door of the restaurant reads, “Guns are welcome on premises. Please keep all weapons holstered, unless the need arises. In such cases, judicious marksmanship is appreciated.”
As KKCO reports, employees who choose to carry a firearm — it is not required at Shooters Grill — must complete a five-hour training session to get their concealed carry permit.
In addition, Shooters Grill also hosts a monthly concealed carry permit class which comes with a free meal. Those who are interested can register in-person at the restaurant.
