Custom G10 grips and 25 LPI checkering provide plenty of gripping surface. Meanwhile, an undercut trigger guard and upswept beavertail safety enable proper hand placement for accuracy and recoil control, according to Colt.

Each CCU variant comes in either .45 ACP or 9mm. The CCU Government model sports a 5-inch barrel; capacities run 8+1 in .45 ACP and 9+1 in 9mm. Combat Unit Rail models sport a Picatinny rail under the barrel. Combat Unit CCO pistols come in a Commander-length, 4.25-inch barrel and feature a capacity of 7+1 in .45 ACP and 9+1 in 9mm.

The Colt Combat Unit Series 1911 brings a lot of gun in .45 or 9mm.

Editor’s Take:

We couldn’t be more happy to see further development coming out of Colt. Since the acquisition by Česká zbrojovka Group SE (CZG)–parent of CZ–last spring, it’s seemingly been full speed ahead. New leadership from a company firmly planted in both the shooting sports and military sales points to a bright future for one of America’s most iconic gun brands.
