A concealed-carry course will be hosted by the Los Alamos Sportsman’s Club (LASC) in New Mexico for Concealed Carry license requirements.
A volunteer instructor that is donating all proceeds to the Youth Program of the club is presenting the program. The class begins on Friday May 9, 5:30-9:30 p.m. at the LASC Indoor range, and resume the next day, Saturday May 10, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the same location.
This class is open to anyone that will be 21 years of age by July 9, 2014. Students do not need to be a LASC club member.
The class will consist of four hours of lecture and discussion Friday, with an additional hour of pre-range lecture Saturday. The remainder of Saturday will be spent on hands on instruction in firearms safety, range and practical marksmanship, defensive shooting and conflict deescalation. The class will conclude with the administration of the mandated practical shooting test for issuance of a certificate that will allow the students to apply for a New Mexico Concealed Pistol Permit.
