Concern Kalashnikov is introducing three 922(r) compliant upgrades for the IZ132 in 2014. Each of these effectively represents the original Kalashnikov design while simultaneously addressing the needs of shooters and hunters around the world. The standard IZ132 comes with gas-operated, rotating-bolt action chambered in 7.62×39, a high-impact polymer hunting butt and forend, and a 16.3-inch barrel. RWC Group is the official US importer of Concern Kalashnikov products.
According to the press release, the IZ132 Saiga upgrade features an ergonomic pistol grip and an improved polymer stock and handguard. It accepts traditional 30-round double-stack magazines.
The SU2 Saiga upgrade also accepts 30-round double-stack magazines. In addition, this upgrade adds a Command Arms Accessories (CAA) skeletonized collapsible stock with a rubber recoil pad and ergonomic extension design, a rubberized pistol grip with interchangeable back straps and finger grooves, and a handguard with Picatinny rails. This upgrade will be introduced this fall.
As the press release notes, the SU3 Saiga upgrade includes a fully adjustable CAA stock with 10-position extension adjustability, an adjustable cheek piece, and a rubberized butt pad which is vertically adjustable. This upgrade has a rubberized grip with six interchangeable finger groove and backstrap inserts. The grip system has a storage compartment which is secured by a snap cap. The SU3 upgrade also features a 5-Picatinny rail system for lighting, hunting and shooting accessories. The upper receiver dust cover can be removed without having to dismantle the rail system. The SU3 accepts a 30-round double-stack magazine. It is due to be introduced in early 2015.
