With the Compensated model, Coonan integrated its pivoting trigger, linkless barrel and external extractor into the 1911 design. The result? Consistent hits on target.

Coonan uses 17-4 PH Stainless on its pistol frames and slides, machined to the highest tolerances on in-house CNC equipment. The barrel is 4340 carbon steel.

The pistol also features an extended slide catch and thumb lock for one-handed operation.

Most of the Athlon Outdoors staff got to shoot the .357 Magnum Compensated at the recent Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous in Gateway, Colo. We put the pistol through its paces hitting CTS Targets steel again and again. Watch the video above to see it in action.

MSRP on the stainless .357 Magnum Compensated starts at $1,849.
