The G3 Target builds on the best features of the G2 with enhancements like enlarged controls, adjustable comb, stock shims, and active chokes. As a result, the next-generation shotgun offers a better shooting experience than its forerunner.

The CZ 712 G3 Target Shotgun

Building on a lightweight alloy receiver, the 712 G3 Target is dressed out with a Turkish walnut stock and forend. Correspondingly, the adjustable comb and stock shim set allow cast-on or cast-off and up or down adjustments. As a result, the 712 G3 provides the perfect custom fit and ensures good eye-to-barrel alignment. Likewise, the redesigned butt pad helps improve comfort and tame recoil.

The gas-operated semi-automatic shotgun utilizes a two-piston system that allows for the handling of a variety of loads. One piston cycles light 2 ¾-inch target loads, while the other handles 3-inch magnum field loads. For this reason, the shotgun is an all-arounder option for clays, upland game, or waterfowl.

The G3 includes five of CZ’s Active-Choke extended choke tubes. Featuring a longer parallel section, they deliver the best patterns possible, according to the company. The extended chokes are easy to change and tighten without using tools, and mid-body threads help keep them securely in place.

Chambered in 12 gauge, the 30-inch barrel features a 7mm wide, ventilated rib and .735-inch bore diameter (over-bored). Additionally, an oversized bolt handle makes operating the 712 G3 easier, while the enlarged bolt release ensures faster reloads. Likewise, the safety was also enlarged and moved to the front of the trigger guard for easy access. Rounds are sent downrange via the 1012 trigger group.
