Oh my, the CZ Scorpion 3+ family just got even better. CZ announced the latest variant, the Scorpion 3+ Pistol. The 7.8-inch barreled large-format, 9mm pistol brings a handy, ergonomic package based on the popular Scorpion line.
The new gun follows up the CZ Scorpion 3+ Micro Pistol. The pistol comes loaded with customer-requested features and performance upgrades, according to CZ. Improved ergonomics and smooth operation highlight the package, delivering performance and higher 9mm velocities in a shortened barrel.
The new Scorpion 3+ Pistol utilizes a cold hammer-forged barrel. Ambidextrous controls include an AR-style mag release and bolt catch/release. Engineers repositioned the releases, according to CZ, making them easier to find and operate.
The magazine body features a locking window, accommodating the AR-style mag release. New Scorpion 3+ magazines also come backward compatible, fitting previous generations of the Scorpion. A new ergonomic grip design makes for comfortable shooting. Additionally, the M-LOK handguard provides attachment points in a lightweight polymer design.
A redesigned, resized magwell adds purchase on the handguard for large or gloved hands. The adjustable four-aperture aluminum sights deliver lower 1/3 co-witness with popular red dots. They also make a good back-up system. The slimmed-down upper receiver, fitted with an endcap, accommodates a sliding brace as well.

CZ just keeps bringing out cool, new variants for the Scorpion line. The backwards compatibility gives some further utility for those also still running older Scorpions. But what this is really all about is portability, concealment and coolness. Want a capable defensive truck, boat or camp gun, the 5.3-pound unit packs way down for extended storage on the go. But should you need to deploy, it still gives you 20 rounds of 9mm at the ready, making it more than up for the job.
