The CZ Scorpion. You know it, you love it. And—judging by the reaction we’ve seen so far—we’re betting that fans will embrace the new reflex suppressed model when it hits shelves in 2018.

First announced in a pair of posts on the company’s Instagram page earlier this week, the new reflex suppressed CZ Scorpion sports a fully welded S2 Ti Reflex can that fits under an HB Industries handguard. This allows it to have a two-inch reflex blast chamber and gives it the volume you’d find in bigger cans while only extending from the muzzle by 5.83 inches. In addition, the can weighs in at just 9.6 ounces and is capable of shooting 147 grain defensive loads at well under 130 dB.
So how did this all come about? Well, the CZ Scorpion is finding increasing use among law enforcement. Recognizing this, the company quickly got to work developing a suppressed variant. According to CZ, the variant would meet the needs of “some of the special units we work with.”
“The can in question was something that we couldn’t source in the marketplace, requiring us to make it ourselves,” CZ said in one of the Instagram posts. “Teaming up with the airflow specialists at Aerocharger, we were able to achieve the suppression of larger, bulkier cans but in a much lighter, shorter package.”
The stainless steel version of the new reflex suppressed CZ Scorpion will be available at a MSRP of $599. The lightweight titanium model will be listed at $929. There’s no firm release date yet, but look for these in 2018.
