VIDEO: Daniel Defense Delta 5 Pro Takes Its Bolt-Action to Next Level

Back in January 2019, we got our first look at a new direction from Daniel Defense. The manufacturer went down the bolt-action route with its Delta 5 rifle. Then, 20 months later, Daniel Defense announced an upgraded model called the Delta 5 Pro. The new model features some serious upgrades over the original model. We finally got a first look at it at the 2020 Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous in Idaho.

On the Range With the Daniel Defense Delta 5 Pro

Let’s dive right into the features. Perhaps the most noticeable different with the Pro model is the barrel. It is a much thicker varmint barrel with a tapered profile. It’s cold-hammer forged and the Cerakoted.

Along with the barrel, there are several other upgrades with the Pro model. It comes standard with an AREA 419 Hellfire Muzzle Brake, which reduces recoil and muzzle rise. It also features AREA 419’s full-length ARCA Rail. Another upgrade is the Timney Elite Hunter trigger, which is adjustable down to 1.5 pounds and up to 4 pounds. Rounding out the package is a fully adjustable stock for a customized fit. Seriously, you can adjust it any way you need to.

Like the original Delta 5, the Delta 5 Pro is available in .308, 6mm Creedmoor, and 6.5 Creedmoor. There’s a lot of opportunity for hunters with that mix. MSRP is $2,499 for all three models; that number is actually pretty important. See, Daniel Defense designed the Pro model not just for hunters, but for competitive shooters as well. As far as production guns for PRS (Precision Rifle Series) competition go, they need to be less than $2,500.

Moving forward, Daniel Defense says it will offer the chassis system, as well as the full rifle. Watch the video above for a complete rundown on the rifle. For even more info, please visit DanielDefense.com.
