The press release says the DS Hailstorm was designed “to give Glock and AR fans a new platform.” The billet 7075 aluminum lower is built specifically for Glock 17, Glock 19 and Glock 26 9mm magazines. The billet 7075 aluminum boasts a last round bolt-hold-open function.
Other features on this new offering include a fit that eliminates spaces between the upper and lower; flared mag well and grip on the front; single-stage trigger that offers a crisp pull; 9mm bolt carrier group; billet ambidextrous safety selector; ultralight narrow profile M-LOK 9″ barrel shroud; conical muzzle blast deflector; Hogue pistol grip; trigger lock; and a 7.5-inch 9mm threaded nitrite barrel.
“The addition of a 9mm version DS Hailstorm pistol and SBR to our line gives customers that prefer the 9mm, whether it is for self-defense or because they are serious Glock fans, two reliable and accurate platforms that are easy to use and maintain, with low recoil and an amazing appetite when it comes to the variety of 9mm ammo that these guns handle,” Dark Storm president Ed Newman said in a statement.
Optics ready, the DS Hailstorm pistol and carbine both ship out with a 17-round magazine. The pistol model features a CAA stock saddle cheek riser and a Thordsen Customs enhanced buffer tube cover with QD sling sockets. The carbine comes with a Magpul CTR stock. Both models are available at a MSRP of $1,095. All NFA restrictions apply.
New York and California-compliant versions of the DS Hailstorm carbine are also available, the company says.
