Dave Sevigny, of the Sevigny Performance Team, earned three top finishes with his Steel Master and Limited Division wins and included a third place overall finish in the Open Division at the Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championship held June 25–28, 2014 at the Southern Utah Shooting Sports Park in St. George, Utah.
While spending most of his time with iron-sighted pistols each year, Sevigny has collected several Open Division top finishes at the Steel Challenge. Sevigny has won Steel Master twice, along with five iron-sight wins, at the World Speed Shooting Championship.
“Winning the Iron Sight Division and Steel Master Championship was my primary goal,” Sevigny said in a release. “This match is one of the best places to compete because of the shooting test of the match and skill of those I’m shooting against. The parity we see at the top of each division forces us to work harder each season.”
Brooke Sevigny was recognized with second place Lady in the overall standings and shot her way to a 10th place in Production Division, as well as 27th place in the Open Division.
“This is my third Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championship and I look forward to competing in many more,” Brooke said.
GASTON J. GLOCK style LP, which sponsors the Sevigny Performance Team, was more than please with the outcome.
“Dave and Brooke are great examples of what it means to be a competitive shooter,” Beate Arnold, CEO of GASTON J. GLOCK style LP said. “Their hard work, persistence and drive pays off every time they step onto the range. They are great embodiments of the values and ideals we hold dear as a brand and we are proud to be their sponsor.”
More than 200 entries competed among the United States Practical Shooting divisions, which include Open, Limited, Production, Single Stack and Revolver, along with Rimfire Pistol and Rimfire Rifle divisions.
Dave and Brooke Sevigny will next compete at the Pro-Am Shooting Championship July 19-20, 2014, at the Universal Shooting Academy in Frostproof, Fla.
