The Smith & Wesson Metal M&P M2.0 hit the scene hard with its aluminum frame and optics-ready slide. Although polymer frames aren’t in any danger of going anywhere, people enjoyed the lightweight, rigid metal frame. For this reason, Ed Brown Products decided to give the pistol its full Fueled Series treatment.
The Ed Brown Fueled Series Smith & Wesson Metal M&P M2.0
Building on the T6 aluminum frame of the Metal M&P M2.0, the Fueled Series incorporates Ed Brown’s Accuracy Rail. The pistol is first broken down to its foundation, where the Ed Brown team gives it a complete overhaul.
The Accuracy Rail is hand fitted to the frame and slide, ensuring perfectly mated surfaces. This improved fit offers enhanced barrel lockup and accuracy.
Next, the custom slide is fully machined from 17-4 stainless steel with black nitride finish. The slide features custom cuts in the side and is dehorned, providing striking aesthetics and comfortable operation. Correspondingly, the forward and rear cocking serrations are straightened, with the forward serrations continuing over the top of the slide. As a result, slide manipulation and press checks are easier.
Housed within the custom slide is a custom 416 stainless, button-rifled match barrel with 1:10 twist and 11° target crown, chambered in 9mm. The barrel features the Ed Brown Tread Flutes and is finished in black nitride. Additionally, the barrel includes ½ x 28 threads, with included thread protector, for attaching a suppressor or other muzzle device. Correspondingly, a custom extractor ensures reliable removal of spent brass.
An Ameriglo Pro-Glo tritium front sight is coupled with a plain black rear sight atop the slide. The suppressor height sites allow for co-witnessing with the optional Trijicon RMR reflex sight. However, you can purchase the pistol without the Trijicon and utilize an optic of your choice with the same footprint.
Rounds are sent downrange via a custom trigger with consistent release and reset. The Ed Brown Low-Profile 360-degree custom Magwell provides for rapid reloads of the 17-round magazines. Each magazine also includes custom-machined aluminum base pads with the Ed Brown logo.
The Ed Brown Fueled Series Metal M&P M2.0 is fitted by hand, one at a time.

Ed Brown recently announced a new line of pistols, the Fueled Series. The Ed Brown Fueled Series is based on popular handgun platforms, beginning with the Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 9mm.
The premise of the Fueled Series centers around taking high standards the company has helped achieve in 1911 parts and handguns an applying those techniques to other handgun platforms. The first platform of choice to be “fueled by Ed Brown” is the Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0.
Ed Brown Fueled Series
Ed Brown breaks the pistol down to its foundations, giving the platform a complete overhaul. It begins with a custom accuracy rail to improve barrel lockup and accuracy, the slide and barrel are perfectly mated to achieve exception fit, according to Ed Brown. Next comes a fully machined custom slide, featuring custom cuts for a striking appearance. However, material remains in all the right areas for hard use and to maintain functionality. Inside, a 416 stainless, button rifled match barrel utilizes Ed Brown tread flutes. It comes with 1/2×28 threads and a custom thread protector, making it suppressor ready.
A re-designed and re-engineered custom extractor mates perfectly to the custom slide, ensure reliability. Custom sights, trigger and a 360-degree magwell paired with machined base pads add to the custom touches. Machined frame pins and an aluminum backplate with custom serrations round out the package.
Like all Ed Brown 1911s, the company builds all Fueled Series pistols by hand, one at a time. In addition to Fueled M&P pistols, Ed Brown offers a full line of fully machined parts and accessories for the M&P and M&P 2.0.
“Now you can look to Ed Brown for more than just 1911s,” said John May, sales and marketing director, Ed Brown Products. “With the addition of the Fueled Series we are offering other popular handgun platforms, fully customized for the best possible accuracy and reliability. As we have for over 50 years, we’re continuing to break new ground in the custom handgun market. If you haven’t looked at Ed Brown in while, it is time to Look Again!”
