Faxon Firearms releases its new ION-X Hyperlite AR platform that boasts a new standard in performance and precision, according to the company. Featuring a lightweight sub-five-pound design, the rifle includes an array of high-performance components for an optimal shooting experience. This includes components like a Faxon Gunner Lightweight M16 Bolt Carrier Group, Carbon Fiber M-LOK Handguard, an adjustable gas block, and more.

The Faxon Firearms ION-X Hyperlite

Featuring a 7075-T6 forged aluminum construction, the ION-X Hyperlite comes in at under five pounds. As a result, the rifle is more maneuverable and easier to handle. Additionally, the receiver set includes a tensioning screw to help prevent wobble between the upper and lower receivers.

To help reduce weight, Faxon removed as much extraneous metal as possible. This includes the Faxon “X” skeletonized magwell and the removal of the forward assist. Likewise, even the Picatinny rail along the top of the upper receiver is skeletonized. The rail runs the length of the upper receiver allowing you to place your optic to best suit your needs.

Chambered in 5.56, the 16-inch pencil profile barrel features a mid-length gas system with an adjustable gas block. Included with the ION-X Hyperlite is a slim 3-port muzzle brake to help mitigate recoil and muzzle rise. The slim profile of the muzzle brake also allows for easy removal of the gas block and barrel nut without disturbing the muzzle device.

Surrounding the barrel is a 13-inch carbon fiber M-LOK handguard for attaching any number of accessories. In addition, each rifle includes a Magpul MOE grip (or similar) and an MFT Minimalist stock (or similar). Correspondingly, just forward the grip is the Radian Talon Ambi 45/90 Degree Safety Selector.

Housed within the upper receiver is the Faxon Gunner Lightweight M16 Bolt Carrier Group with Superfinish. Additionally, the ambidextrous charging handle features oversized, knurled handles for positive engagement, even under duress. Finally, rounds are sent downrange via the Hiperfire EDTDM Single Stage Trigger.
