Federal Ammunition recently announced the release of two new shotshell loads optimized for FITASC competitions. The Federal Gold Medal Paper line adds 28-gram payloads for sporting clays competition at the international level.

Federal Gold Medal Paper Shotshells for FITASC Competition

“These new paper shotshells feature a 28-gram payload ideal for international FITASC competition,” said Federal’s Shotshell Product Manager Josh Vickers. “Like all Gold Medal Paper loads, they feature a high-quality brass head, harder shot, and two-piece SoftCell wad design that reduces felt recoil and improves patterns.”

The paper hull design features a two-piece wad utilizing SoftCell technology. It decreases the perceived recoil and produces more uniform patterns compared to one-piece designs, according to Federal. The brass head ensures flawless cycling and extraction. Meanwhile, the lead shot delivers the optimum blend of hardness and density for even patterns and maximum downrange power.

The current Gold Medal Paper line includes 11 cartridge options. The two new FITASC loads come in 12-gage, 2 3/4-inch, 28 gram, 1,330 fps, 3 1/2 dram in No. 7 1/2 or 8 shot. The shells come in 25-round boxes with and MSRP of $20.99.

FITASC comprises the international version of American sporting clays, popular worldwide. For more info, visit federalpremium.com.

Editor’s Note:

For any competitor jumping into international competition in sporting clays, here’s a new product you need to check out. But this ammo can have some dual roles for Americans as well. It should prove exceedingly safe to run in classic-style double guns for plinking or casual sporting clays. Could it even see some service over a dove field in a pinch? We’re guessing it could work just fine, even if not ideal. But for American sporting clays shooters, this load should really excel at the local club or even on the back 40. Check ’em out!
