The Weatherby 18i Shotgun Line Adds a High-End Limited Model

Back in 2019, Weatherby introduced its 18i shotgun line with three variants, including Waterfowler, Deluxe, and Synthetic models (below). The semi-automatic line utilizes the company’s proven inertia system and a one-piece design machined from billet aluminum. Recently, the company bolstered the line with a new high-end Limited edition with premium materials and elegant engraving with 24k gold inlays.

Like the others in the series, the Limited features a one-piece aluminum receiver with a hand-polished brushed nickel finish. However, the Limited features engraving by Italian artist Bottega Incisioni di Cesare Giovanelli. The engraving exquisitely details quail and pheasant hunts, with beautiful 24k gold overlays highlighting the birds.

Accentuating the artistic styling of the Limited is its exhibition-grade walnut stock and forend, unique to each shotgun. Likewise, the ergonomic grip and forend feature classic texturing for enhanced grip. In addition, the stock is shim adjustable for custom shooter fitment.

Available in 12- or 20-gauge, the 28-inch barrel features a chrome-lined bore, full-length ventilated top rib, and high gloss finish. Correspondingly, an LPA fiber optic sight provides a low-light sighting solution. Finally, the entire 18i line is set up on the Crio Plus choke system with 5 Crio Plus choke tubes. These include cylinder, improved cylinder, modified, improved modified, and full with included storage case and choke wrench.

As with the others in the 18i line, the Limited has a capacity of 4+1. However, the included magazine limiting plug decreases that to 2+1.

“The 18i Limited has most everything someone would expect from a high-end Weatherby. From the exhibition-grade wood to the exquisite engraving on the metalwork, this shotgun is one I am extremely proud to introduce. We’ve had a lot of beautiful shotguns in our line-up over the years, but this one may just rival some of the best to ever bear the Weatherby name.” -Adam Weatherby.
