A Florida armed robber is dead and his accomplice is on the run thanks to the actions of a man with a concealed carry permit.
WSVN reports three people were sitting in a park in the city of Plantation in Broward County when two men walked up and started casually talking to them. Everything seemed normal, until one of the bad guys drew a gun and announced a robbery.

Fortunately, one of the would-be victims is a concealed carrier and had his gun on him. He drew his firearm and opened fire, fatally shooting one of the suspects. The second suspect immediately fled the scene.
“I was in the kitchen of my house when I heard four shots total,” a neighbor who heard the shots told WSVN. “The first one sounded like a fire cracker, and the last three definitely sounded like gunshots.”
Area resident Chet Rockwood says this sort of crime is rare in the area.
“Quite unusual to happen in this neighborhood. We have maybe minor things, break-ins, but otherwise, we’ve never had anything like that happen here,” Rockwood said.
The man who shot the armed robber stayed on the scene and is fully cooperating with authorities, according to CBS Miami.
