FN 15 DMR II, Tactical Carbine II Join FN America’s FN 15 Series

FN America is updating its FN 15 series with the new FN 15 DMR II and Tactical Carbine II in 5.56x45mm and .300 AAC Blackout. All feature the newly-designed FN handugard with M-LOK technology.

Boasting a 6061 aluminum construction, the FN handguard is installed by locking to the upper receiver, over top of the barrel and barrel nut, using wedge locks tightened clockwise and an anti-rotation pin preventing movement between the rail and receiver, the press release says. Installation is completed via two screws which bottom out in the barrel nut groove.

According to the press release, the handguard’s alignment mechanism offers maximum rigidity while minimizing deflection, thereby ensuring that mounted accessories are fastened without any shift in zero, despite pressures that may be applied during firing.

“The updates made to the FN 15 series focus heavily on the handguard,” said John Keppeler, senior vice president of commercial and law enforcement sales. “We evaluated handguard options on the market and decided that the next evolution of this line would need to outperform our customers’ expectations in terms of fit and finish as well as accuracy. We are confident that these new rifles will do just that.”

MSRP for the FN 15 DMR II is $1,999, while the FN 15 Tactical Carbine II in 5.56x45mm and .300 AAC Blackout is $1,599. They’ll be available for purchase by the end of the year.
