FN broke some new ground today, announcing the industry’s first tactical configuration of an optics-ready .22 LR pistol. The new FN 502 Tactical comes with an innovative slide-mounted red dot on the rimfire platform. Inspired by the company’s Low-Profile Optics Mounting System, it offers options while providing co-witness sights.

FN continues its big announcements this week. Yesterday, we brought you news of the long-awaited FN SCAR with a non-reciprocating charging handle. That launch proves FN’s willingness to listen to customer demand. Now the 502 brings a high-capacity .22 LR in a tactical configuration, providing a trainer, plinker or even a defensive pistol.
Built to Run Hard
The single-action, hammer-fired pistol comes with a best-in-class trigger, according to FN. A high-capacity, 15-round magazine feeds the gun. It comes with improved ergonomics, balance and ambidextrous controls, according to FN. A nod to the FN 509 family, it comes range ready.

The pistol sports FN’s signature Tactical feature set. It comes with a 4.6-inch barrel with recessed target crown–threaded 1/2×28-inch to accept most .22 suppressors. The 502 Tactical employs a robust, target style. Topped with a red dot, it should provide a high-end range experience for shooters.
