FN America recently announced it latest limited-edition FN 509 Tactical, this time available only through RSR Group. The unique 509 Tactical comes in a striking battle-gray slide and black frame combo.

These unique, limited-edition models have been a theme for FN of late. Initially available in flat dark earth and black, last month the company announced an eye-catching flat dark earth and olive drab green combo. Then last week, the company put out yet another two-tone version, flat dark earth on black. With the addition of the battle-gray slide on black frame combo, FN truly has a color combination to suit just about anyone.

The FN 509 Tactical features a 4.5-inch threaded barrel with 4-inch slide and the FN Low-Profile Optics Mounting System. Suppressor-height night sights co-witness with miniature red dot optics. The pistol comes with 17-round or 24-round extended magazines; however, 10-round version are available for states with magazine capacity restrictions.

The FN 509 Series comprises FN’s signature striker-fired pistol line for duty or carry. The 509 features double-action operation, external extractor, loaded chamber indicator and front and rear cocking serrations. Inside, a cold hammer-forged barrel features a recessed target crown, along with a polished chamber and feed ramp.

The frame utilizes a polymer construction with replaceable steel frame/slide rails. An enhanced grip texture helps deliver more shooter control. Meanwhile, interchangeable backstraps enable shooters to customize the fit. Each pistol features a Picatinny accessory mounting rail.

A fully ambidextrous slide stop lever and magazine release deliver further versatility. Finally, each magazine features a high visibility, low-friction follower.
