FN Rush 9Ti: FN Launches its First Commercial Pistol Suppressor

We have a bold new entry into the world of cans. The FN Suppressor debuts today with the launch of the FN Rush 9Ti. The company’s first commercial pistol suppressor, built from a lightweight Titanium-hybrid construction, mates to any 1/2×28″-threaded pistols.

FN Suppressors: The Rush 9Ti

The heart of the new FN Suppressor line centers on the unique booster assembly, blast baffle and baffle stack design. It produces a tight gas piston seal and even gas distribution, evenly flowing gases forward for reduced blowback and recoil, according to FN.

The FN Rush 9TI is built for 9mm pistols.

“The FN Rush 9Ti is the first introduction in FN’s portfolio of firearm accessories that enhance the end user’s shooting experience,” said Chris Cole, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for FN America, LLC. “Our goal with developing the Rush 9Ti was to give consumers a reliable and durable 9mm suppressor that met FN’s rigorous quality standards and would integrate seamlessly with the FN 509 and other 9mm hosts. We tackled some of most common complaints about suppressor performance like blowback and recoil reduction to deliver a final product capable of mitigating both.”

The suppressor line matches the performance of the FN 509 Tactical line of pistols, along with most any other 9mm platform. The suppressor exhibits a slim overall design and lightweight construction. The system combines to counterbalance recoil and maintain a clear sight picture, according to FN. A simple design enables breakdown for cleaning and maintenance.

The included 1/2x28” booster assembly is entirely unique and is the smallest, most lightweight on the market.

Unique Booster Assembly

An included 1/2×28″ booster assembly proves unique. Dubbed the “smallest, most lightweight on the market,” it helps produce a tight gas piston seal. The corresponding gas flows through the blast chamber and baffle stack, timed to enable rear neutral impact to slid cycle speeds, according to FN. The design goes after reliability in function. It reduces back pressure into the firearm, reducing overall wear and tear, along with felt recoil, according to FN.

“When selecting a suppressor, customers often have to choose between effective sound suppression, reduced blowback or felt recoil; you very rarely get all in one,” said John Ryan, Director of Product Management for FN America, LLC. “Our team developed a suppressor that delivers an unmatched shooting experience straight from the box. You no longer have to settle for one or the other with the Rush 9Ti.”

The FN Rush 9Ti pairs with the company's 509 pistol line.

Hey, FN, welcome to the party! When it comes to innovation and introduction of new gear, FN takes their time. But when they come out with something new, you can bet it works. Take AR-15s, for example. Shooters begged FN for years to produce the AR commercially. But FN took its time, and when the FN 15 series finally came out, it impressed. We expect the same story here with the Rush 9Ti. Folks have been really wanting FN to expand into the world of suppressors. At first glance, this one looks impressive, and likely marks just the tip of the iceberg.
