FN America is expanding its series of FNS striker-fired pistols with the announcement that the FNS-9 Compact is now available in Flat Dark Earth (FDE). According to the press release, the FNS-9 Compact FDE features a flat dark earth polymer frame and a durable, scratch-resistant PVD slide coating that have been color matched to guarantee consistency. It also retains an ergonomic grip angle and diamond texture grip pattern that shooters have come to know and love on FNS and FNX pistols.

“Flat dark earth began as a military-designated color that FN pioneered with the introduction of the FN SCAR series in the early 2000s,” said John Keppeler, vice president of sales and marketing. “The color remains a popular choice for military customers and consumers, making this addition a natural extension for the FNS-9 Compact series.”
The FNS-9 Compact FDE also comes with two magazine options: a pinky extender for a better grip, and a full size with grip sleeve for training at the range and backup use. In addition, a padfolio-style soft case has also been introduced for easy storage and convenient transportation to and from the range.
