Fobus Holsters has unveiled its new Inside the Waistbang (IWB) series of holsters: the IWBL and IWBS.
According to the press release, these new Fobus IWB holsters resemble the “hybrid” holsters on the market, meaning they’re built from a flexible backing that buffers between the pistol and body where the holster shell covers the pistol and two belt clips encircle the belt, positioning the holster at waistband height. The difference here is that the shell and holster backing on these Fobus IWB holsters are completely unique.
The shell is flexible, yet non-collapsing. It also allows for one-handed re-holstering. Right now, Fobus is offering two new models: the IWBL for large frame pistols and IWBS for small frame pistols. Both are universal IWB holsters that don’t require replacement of shells when used with different, similar-sized pistols.
Meanwhile, the holster’s unique backing is impervious to moisture and features multiple ventilation openings. In addition, it provides a mild, non-slip surface on both sides to prevent lateral movement of the holster around the user’s waist, as well as a retention surface against the pistol. The holster grips the pistol between the belt tension on the holster shell on one side, and the flexible backing that conforms to the body contour of the end user on the other side.
Simply put, these new Fobus IWB’s offer an innovative approach to a popular and tested system of concealed carry. The MSRP is $39.99.
