Fortis MFG didn’t come up with the name for its brand new rail out of nowhere.
The extremely lightweight rail system — appropriately titled “Switch” — features an all new patent pending locking mechanism that allows tool-less removal of the rail, making it easy to quickly change rails for a variety of mission or competition specific setups.
Made from Aircraft Grade 6061-T6 Aluminum, the Switch rail features keymod slots, QD attachments point, as well as a full Picatinny rail on top. The locking handle is made from 7075-T6 Aluminum.
The Fortis Switch rail is available in a 12.42-inch or 14.76-inch model. The 12-inch version weights in at a mere 8.7 ounces, while the 14-inch version weighs in at an even 10 ounces.
The rail design not only looks great, but is very functional in your hand. The piece adds minimal weight to the rifle and you won’t be disappointed!
