A good gun requires a good holster. In the past, most shooters preferred leather; it was considered the best for serious shooters. Today, lots of shooters have gone over to Kydex. However, hybrid holsters are increasingly entering the market. For example, Galco has just introduced a brand new hybrid called the QuickTuk Cloud.

For this IWB holster, Galco combined Kydex, ballistic nylon with the company’s new Comfort Cloth. This creates a holster that provides comfort, retention and concealment. The comfort comes from an innovative backing plate, composed of a ballistic nylon front over a closed cell foam body. Galco also lined the back portion of the plate, which rides against the user, with Comfort Cloth. This Adaptive Performance Mesh provides padding and moisture wicking.
On the other end, Galco used a rigid Kydex holster pocket to provide a fast draw with easy re-holstering. The design provides for a full-hand grip, which is important for quickly getting a gun into action in a self-defense situation.
Intended for IWB use, the QuickTuk Cloud also features Galco’s patent-pending, tuckable polymer UniClip. This attachment provides concealment, stability and easy on-off capability. Additionally, users can adjust the clip to set the carry height to suit preferences. Users can use this IWB holster both tucked and untucked, which provides more options of carry.
Currently, this IWB holster comes only in black for Glock pistols. More fits, however, should become available eventually, especially if shooters end up liking this interesting hybrid holster.
