Gaston J. Glock style LP, a proven manufacturer of hunting and shooting apparel and accessories, is introducing their Meteorite Damascus Pocket Knife, new for 2014.
This knife, which was manufactured based on drawings and sample books from 1932, is made from made from high quality, rare 320-layer torsion meteorite Damascus from the German blacksmith Markus Balbach, the press release states. The body of the knife is composed of two stamped brass liners, each of which have welded pins made of nickel silver, a back spring, a guard attached to the back spring and a connecting piece.
Meanwhile, the knife’s scales are made of stabilized buckeye burl which complement the blade’s steely color. They are attached using nickel silver pins and then permanently riveted together, as with all parts of the knife’s body. Completion of this pocket knife occurs after over 100 different steps have been performed, according to the press release.
The knife’s blade is made of high quality rare meteorite Damascus steel. In addition, the fixed blade can be unlocked by a mechanism which is triggered by the guard. The Meteorite Damascus Pocket Knife has an overall length of 8.75 inches and a blade length of 3.75 inches.
