A good guy with a gun fought back against a trio of armed carjackers in DeKalb County, Georgia, wounding one suspect and sending the others on the run.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 25-year-old Joshua Hamadi boots semi-trucks illegally parked on private property. On Tuesday morning at 3 a.m. in the parking lot of the Bouldercrest Plaza shopping center, he was processing a truck he’d just booted when a black Kia Spectra pulled up behind him.

Sensing that something was about to happen, the legally armed Hamadi pulled his .40-caliber GLOCK from his holster.
That turned out to be a wise decision, as two men in ski masks exited the Kia, ran up to Hamadi’s vehicle and pointed their guns at him from about a foot away.
Fearing for his life, Hamadi opened fire. As the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports, he shot one of the would-be carjackers, a 15-year-old boy, in the hip. The other armed suspect and a third accomplice sped off.
Hamadi then kept the wounded suspect on the ground while instructing the driver whose truck had just been booted to call 911. Minutes later, the other two suspects returned in the black Kia and Hamadi opened fire again, this time hitting a tire and sending them fleeing for good.
The 15-year-old was transported to an area hospital. He is in stable condition.

DeKalb police said Hamadi would likely not face charges for the shooting.
“You can practice and train all you want, but it comes down to how you react in the situation,” Hamadi said. “I was very surprised by myself. I was able to keep very calm. My adrenalin kicked in but I was still very calm.”
