SHOT Show is just weeks away, meaning that companies are starting to roll out early glimpses of what’s to come. One company getting a head start on the upcoming show is Girsan, with its new MC1911 Influencer. Available through Florida-based European American Armory Corporation (EAA), the 1911 comes in four calibers, three finishes, and three size options.
The Girsan MC1911 Influencer Hits the Streets in Multiple Calibers, Finishes, and Sizes
Available in your choice of sub-compact, compact, or full size, the Influencer isn’t your grandfather’s 1911. Likewise, the line offers a selection of Black Camo, Blue/Black, and Tungsten finishes. Providing enhanced retention during courses of fire are hexagonal textured grip panels and textured front and back straps.
Riding atop the frame is the optic-ready slide featuring the RMS/RMSc footprint and aggressive forward and rear cocking serrations. However, it is worth noting that the optic cut cover houses the rear site. So, the installation of an optic requires removing the rear sight.
Sitting within the slide is the barrel that ranges from 3.4 inches, 4.4 inches, and 5 inches, depending on frame selection. The 1911 pistol is available in your choice of 9mm, .45 ACP, 10mm, or 38 Super. Of course, the capacity will vary based on frame size and caliber selection, ranging from 6+1 to 9+1.
The Influencer is made safe via the grip safety and ambidextrous thumb safety. However, the other controls, including the magazine release and slide stop, are not ambidextrous. Additionally, an extended beavertail grip helps to mitigate the chance of slide bite, further protecting the shooter.
Magazine swaps are made easier via an ample magazine well. In addition, sitting just forward of the trigger guard on the compact and full-size models is a four-slot Picatinny rail for attaching a light or laser.
