Glendale Heights Police Department Selects Beretta APX Pistol

Beretta announced its selection to equip a suburban police department outside Chicago with its next pistol. Illinois’ Glendale Heights Police Department selected the Beretta APX pistol recently. The 9mm pistol will arm officers patrolling the enclave west of Chicago.

So officers get the striker-fired Beretta APX. It features a modular design incorporating a removable serialized chassis frame. The system enables users to easily replace grip frame housings for a better fit.

Commercially, the pistol comes in Full, Centurion, Compact and Carry configurations. Each platform includes three different size interchangeable backstraps. The APX also features a trigger safety, striker block safety and a striker deactivation button. The latter enables disassembly without requiring a pull of the trigger.
