Coinciding with June National Safety Month, the focus of this year’s Glock Safety Pledge Drive is the #FollowTheFour campaign. Promoted via social media, the campaign is a reference to the four rules of gun safety—treat all firearms as if they’re loaded, never point the muzzle at anything you’re not willing to destroy, keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target and you’re ready to fire, and be sure of your target and what’s beyond it.
In order to participate and spread awareness of the campaign, Glock wants you to take a photo holding four fingers up and share it on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #FollowTheFour. In doing so, you’ll automatically be entered into a prize drawing to win a Glock 19 Gen4 with front serrations, which is part of the company’s recently announced Summer Special series.
“We believe that the first step to being a responsible gun owner is knowing how to handle your firearm safely” Glock VP Josh Dorsey said in a statement. “And as a firearms manufacturer and a leader in the industry, it is Glock’s first and foremost responsibility to teach and promote firearm safety to others.”
The Glock Safety Pledge Drive runs from now until June 30.
