A few weeks ago, YouTube updated its rules for gun videos, putting several popular channels on the platform in jeopardy. As a result, many content creators are making moves to preserve their work and establish audiences outside of YouTube. Hickok45, Military Arms Channel, Iraqveteran8888 and InRangeTV have all started migrating content over to Full30.com. InRangeTV also started its own channel on the adult website PornHub. Now GlockStore has announced the creation of a brand new site for its videos called GunVideo.com. Watch the announcement from GlockStore founder and CEO Lenny Magill above.

GlockStore Statement

“Recently, YouTube has decided they are going to shut down some firearm related channels,” the statement on GunVideo.com reads. “Which ones they will shut down aren’t exactly clear, as the guidelines as to what will, or will not be acceptable are a bit vague. However, as we interpret the guidelines, we believe there is a very real possibility that GlockStore’s YouTube Channel may soon be deleted and the hundreds of hours of valuable, instructional based videos will be lost. That’s why we’re launching GunVideo.com.”

The site is still under construction as GlockStore continues to transfer its Glock video content. The long-term goal, Magill says, is for the site to host videos from “other content producers,” not just GlockStore.

In the meantime, Magill is urging people to go ahead and subscribe to GunVideo.com.

“Unlike YouTube, we appreciate your time and viewership as well as respect, and support both the 1st and 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution,” Magill says.

GlockStore’s YouTube channel currently has over 120,000 subscribers and has garnered over 15 million views since it was launched in 2010.

YouTube Gun Policies

In case you needed a refresher, here is YouTube’s policy regarding gun videos:

YouTube prohibits certain kinds of content featuring firearms. Specifically, we don’t allow content that:

• Intends to sell firearms or certain firearms accessories through direct sales (e.g., private sales by individuals) or links to sites that sell these items. These accessories include but may not be limited to accessories that enable a firearm to simulate automatic fire or convert a firearm to automatic fire (e.g., bump stocks, gatling triggers, drop-in auto sears, conversion kits), and high capacity magazines (i.e., magazines or belts carrying more than 30 rounds).
• Provides instructions on manufacturing a firearm; ammunition; high capacity magazine; homemade silencers/suppressors; or certain firearms accessories such as those listed above. This also includes instructions on how to convert a firearm to automatic or simulated automatic firing capabilities.
• Shows users how to install the above-mentioned accessories or modifications.
