In the presser announcing the new slide, the Washington-based outfit says the SPG43 is made from American 17-4PH stainless steel, which was chosen for its strength, hardness and corrosion resistance. It also maintains a level of “machinability,” allowing critical tolerance to be held within .003dz.
The SPG43 is offered in two different designs. Both versions boast “strategically-placed” patterns that deliver not only in an aesthetic sense, but also when it comes slide manipulation and function. The slide is coated in a user’s choice of either Black Nitride or a number of color options in DLC (Diamond-like Carbon).
Grey Ghost says it partnered with “only the best in the industry” to get “feedback on exactly what the end users are looking for in a concealed carry pistol.”
“With the need now more than ever to rely on your carry pistol, the decision was obvious for us to develop an option for the G43,” said Grey Ghost Precision VP of firearms Jason Curns. “We take great pride in providing products that meet the demands of our customers, and are confident that the new SPG43’s look and functionality will more than exceed expectations.”
The MSRP for the SPG43 Glock 43 slide isn’t listed, but Grey Ghost Precision also sells Glock 17 and Glock 19 slides for $399, so one would assume the price to be something similar.
