Gun Bill Signed in West VA

Charleston Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin has signed a bill that allows people with concealed-carry permits to carry their firearms to city-owned recreational facilities, including swimming pools and after-school centers.

People are required to store guns securely out of view and access to others per the law. But they could bring them to sports venues and places that cater to children, including after-school programs. Tomblin said Tuesday he’ll continue to work with officials to address those concerns.

Both chambers of the Legislature previously approved the measure. Charleston Mayor Danny Jones has called the proposal “disgraceful” and that would threaten the safety of children.
